  • Complex Fruitarian Salad with Spices and Herbs

Fruitarian Salad - a somewhat complex non-sweet fruit salad recipe, with my usual spices and herbs, and with some additional ingredients this time like chives, oregano, sage, thyme, marjoram, basil, rosemary, etc. - raw vegan, for Winter and cold - a 30-minute improvised video:

Hope you liked some of my ideas and got your own!

  • Matt - jAe Costly

    Matt - jAe Costly

This is an interview with Matt - we talked after this interview online live, see the video below (~ 2.5 hours). Matt kindly agreed to answer my questions when I invited him after watching this video (Dear Vegans, Plants DO Feel Pain BUT...) on his channel:

    I Introduction
    1. Please, introduce yourself.

Greetings! My name is Matthew. On the internet, I go by either jAe Costly or jack's Afer effort.

    2. How would you describe this stage of your life?

    Veganism.

    3. Tell us something about your background.

I grew up in the United States. I have been vegan for over a year. I used to work at a Zoo but I have been studying science education for the past few years.

  • Is High Fruit Raw Vegan Diet the Key to Vitality and Health?

I was asked this question by a very nice person. The first version of the question was (with a few additional details):

...do you think high fruit raw vegan diet is optimal for health?...I honestly sense i am not going the right way, as I am not "glowing" on this lifestyle. Would love your perspective.

The final version of the question was:

...is this diet key to vitality and health, aside of course relationships, state of mind and etc.

In this semi-spontaneous response I did not touch on a few important aspects of the issue because the subject was a bit too broad and complex to give an comprehensive and definitive short answer. I also did not know almost anything about this person experience with this diet. The video is ~ 30 minutes long:

  • 10K Walk / Run - Nature, Teens, Grand Battement, Vlogging, Personal Marketing, Lake

Another walk and run along a destructed river and by a lake in Southern California: walking, jumping, running, accelerating, elements of ballet training, stretching, grand battement ([batmɑ̃], a movement in which both legs are kept straight and one leg is kicked outward from the body and in again). A few thoughts on freedom of mind, personal marketing on youtube, critique on building communities of loyal followers as a marketing strategy, "begging" for money and attention, cost of making videos.

  • 8K Run / Walk - Internet, Jumps, Empathy, Being in the Moment Limits

Some thoughts during my morning walk / run: social networks and click-popularity, paying for reaching subscribers on facebook, escaping reality, fruits are not ideal food (there is no ideal food), plants matter regardless whether we can relate to them, alcohol and fast food, limited resources, we need to find ways to live together on this planet.

  • My Sleep and What I Do with Fruit

The second vlog where I point the lens at myself. Just talking. "I eat them" :)

Overnutrition

Overnutrition, a type of malnutrition, is emerging with rates of obesity and related chronic diseases associated with urbanisation, aging populations, technological development and globalisation of food supplies and industry. Billions of dollars are spent annually by the food industry to promote the consumption of highly refined, high-calorie foods with little or no nutritional value.

At least 35 million overweight children are living in developing countries and 8 million in developed countries. Children are increasingly exposed to high-fat, high-sugar, high-salt, energy-dense, micronutrient-poor foods which tend to be cheaper than healthy foods. General imbalance in energy intake compared to physical activity levels is driving the obesity epidemic. In industrialised countries, child obesity risk is associated with lower household income, women with less education, and single parent households.

Obesity is increasingly prevalent among adolescent girls and women, as access to a greater quantity of inexpensive, tasty, and convenient foods increases.

Taxation on high-calorie, low-nutrition foods can play a significant role in reducing the consumption of such products. Population-wide weight-control campaigns that raise awareness among medical staff, policy-makers and the public at large can also help to reduce obesity. Particularly important is the promotion of health literacy. Additional measures include restrictions on the marketing of unhealthy foods and sugary drinks to children, and controls on the use of misleading health and nutrition claims; mandatory front-of-pack food labelling helps consumers to identify healthier options.
