I am on a 100% fruit diet experiment (no nuts, no seeds, etc.). :)
|
I am currently a stay-at-home dad. My daughter and I have identical diets, with the exception that she also has breastmilk & avocados. I do research in theoretical physics when time allows, with the ultimate goal of earning a PhD. I also enjoy running, weight lifting, hiking, camping, and gardening. Learning about nutrition is also a hobby of mine.
I have been 100% low-fat raw vegan (80/10/10) since 2007, 100% overt-fat-free since Nov. 2008, and 100% fruitarian (no more greens) since Dec. 2009. I don't take any supplements, and just drink small amounts of distilled water. Most of my water comes from juicy fruits. I used to use a blender frequently, however I have stopped completely, as I feel this process is unnatural. My diet is nearly 100% organic. I also haven’t used shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, sunscreen, bug repellant, or anything else but water on my body since 2008.
I love non-fiction books. My copies of The 80/10/10 Diet by Doug Graham, The China Study by Colin Campbell, Reclaiming Our Health by John Robbins, and Fruitarianism: The Path to Paradise by Anne Osborne will stay with me always.
More on fruitarianism:
I went fruitarian on Dec. 1st, 2009 as an experiment. I understand that 100% fruit diets are controversial, and that many (including Doug Graham) say that they are not sustainable. However, consuming greens in their natural state never appealed to me. I had to blend greens in a smoothie in order to handle them at all. If I observe a health or fitness decline, or develop strong cravings, I will not hesitate to terminate the experiment.
I have a couple other reasons for having an interest in fruitarianism, besides disliking greens. Other advantages of a fruitarian diet: ethics – I am no longer harming plants when I eat my food, environment – fruit trees yield more calories per acre and don’t damage topsoil, and I am not eating the toxic chemicals in the leaves that plants use for protection (“lettuce opium”, etc.).

Aims, Description and RulesAims
DescriptionThe subject of this site is fruitarianism - a quest for optimal basic food, presumably fruit, and for the best ethical and maintainable way to live on this planet. The main thing that unite fruitarians of all kinds is that they consider various fresh ripe edible fruits to be such a good food, that they make them to a main element of their diet, usually from 75% of total caloric intake and up. Normally they complement fruits by seeds, but there are many ways to be a fruitarian - for health, environmental and ethical reasons. We want to gather all fruitarians in one place. If you are a fruitarian, please, represent yourself here (it would take only few minutes). We also invite non-fruitarian folks to support the site, especially scientists, doctors and philosophers) who have something significant to say on the subject. Fruitarians.net is an open independent platform: most information is freely reachable for all internet users without any need for registration. We are not selling anything, there is no hidden agenda behind the project, and it is privately funded and maintained by a fruitarian. It is independent from any ideology or religion. This place is for people who are interested in fruitarianism and who find the subject important enough to express their original or thoughtfully adapted ideas and concepts in a courteous manner, and in a nicely organized environment.
